This plan builds on the academic core components and includes school-based learning and work-based learning experiences leading to both academic and occupational competencies.

 

The following are the minimum requirements set by the Florence Ag-Science instructors to receive one of the Career and Technology Specializations. Students meeting the requirements for one or more specializations will graduate wearing an Agriculture Honor sash.

  • Food Technology and Safety 
  • Food Processing - DC (Meat Lab I) or Problems and Solutions 1 (Market)
  • Practicum in Food Processing (Meat Lab II) or Science Research and Design or Career Preparation 1 (Coop)
  • D.C. AgMg 2306 Livestock and Meat Marketing

 

Ag Business/Communications

  • Principles of Agriculture or Food and Natural Resources
  • Professional Standards in Agribusiness
  • Professional Communications (Speech Credit)
  • Entrepreneurship or Radio Broadcasting 1
  • Radio Broadcasting 2 or Problems and Solutions 1 (INDP) or Career Preparation 1 (Coop)

 

 

Animal & Food Industry
